The system works by combining the system aluminium structure with a wide range of infill panels ranging from 3mm to 12mm thick in a variety of materials either Foamex, Acrylic, timber board, MDF or aluminium. The strength of the system relies heavily on the locks and when locked together the shapes have a great deal of structural integrity and can be used to hang very heavy items or support enormous weights. Limitations mean that the system is most effective when the posts and beams are visible as they are not very easy to hide and clad all. The system use predefined angles usually 45 degree or 60 degree increments, which cannot be altered at a later date,. Most commonly used systems on the market include Octanorm (the industry standard), UniBox, Modul, Sima, F+T, Foga, Lynx, Sodem, Leitner.
